Brazil - A quick glance

Let's observe some history 
Brazil was discovered during the early 15th century and was a Portuguese colony over 300 years. The effective settlement begun in 1534. The word Brazil comes from "brazilwood" , a typical wood which was traded to Europe from Brazil by the sailors (as taught in schools). Brazilian constitution was formed on 25th March 1824. Brazil became independent on 7th September 1822. The slave trade began to decrease in 1850's and complete abolition of slavery was amended in 1888.

A geographical contemplation
A magical land having vast coastlines with exotic beaches and corals, lush green tropical forest, mouth watering cuisine, serene countrysides with blushing grasslands, torrid wastelands, blooming eucalyptus, coffee, orange plantations, spectacular animal kingdom and massive diversity of races. It attracts millions of tourist every year from across the globe and 97.7% of the foreginers intend to return soon. It has produced excellent F1 drivers, volleyball world champions and four times world cup football champions.

An economic briefing
Brazil is the 5th largest country in the world, with a whopping economy (7th largest economy by nominal GDP), 10th largest consumer of energy (mostly from renewable source like  hydroelectricity and ethanol) and member of BRIC, UN, G20 etc. Sao Paulo, the biggest city is the business and cultural epi centre of Latin America. Also know for the high inequality income distribution and highly open for FDI's. The country is excited with the upcoming 2014 World cup Football and 2016 Olympics.
